Acknowledgements and Funding

This is essentially a self-supported PhD research project. Nevertheless, I am very grateful to City University, London, UK, and to my department, Centre for Measurement and Information in Medicine, where I used to work for waiving all my PhD registration and tuition fees as staff member (Research Assistant), and also for funding some of the software I am using to build this site and paying for my attendance to several conferences to present papers related to this research project. (I was then appointed as Lecturer in Healthcare Informatics at the School for Health, University of Bath, and currently work as Senior Lecturer in Health Informatics at the Faculty of Health and Social Work, University of Plymouth.)

I would also like to thank Dr. Christopher Austin president of GeoHealth, Inc., US, who supplied BodyViewer v2.1 Extension Version (ICD-9) free of charge for the purpose of this research, as well as Dr. David Hunt president of Yaki Technologies, US, for kindly providing their proprietary ICD-9-CM search technology as a research grant to build HealthCyberMap’s Advanced Resource Search Tool.

I am also grateful to Dr. Natalya F. Noy and the Protégé Team in Stanford Medical Informatics laboratory at Stanford University, US, for providing the UMLS tab for Protégé-2000 free of charge for the purpose of this research, and also for their critical comments and support.

Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Stefan Decker, maintainer of SemanticWeb.org, the Semantic Web Community Portal, for providing me with the subdomain https://healthcybermap.semanticweb.org
